In order to use fax on a network we must follow following steps-

1) Install file sharing on the server
2) Install Microsoft fax on server as well as on client
3) Configure the fax server
4) Configure the client/workstation

Sharing a Fax Modems-
A fax machine is a device that can send or receive text and pictures over a telephone lines. A fax machine translates pictures and text into series of zero and one called a bit map, at the sending side. While at the receiving side a fax machine reads incoming data and translates zeros and one’s back into dots and reprints the picture. It uses optical scanners for digitizing images from paper. A printer and telephone lines for connection. A fax machine can be interface to a computer by using a machine/device called as fax modem. Fax modem may be internal or external the fax machine can be shared by number of users in a network.

How to create new user account-
Click start -> programs -> Administrative & odes -> user manager for domains then go to user and then ‘New User ‘dialog box. To have access to administrative tools you need log as an administrator.
This dialog box gives many user accounts.

Creating user account-

As we know that in a client server network user has username and password which is used for login into network. A user will initiate connection to the network by providing user-name and password. The server is then able to identify which user account to user for each person who accesses the network. Now it’s a duty of administrator to create an account for each user on server and then alter word manage it.
Most of the Operating System have, two default accounts already created which are-
• Administrator Account
• Guest Account

The administrator needs to create account for the people who work on your network
